Summary:

Silicon Labs Norway seeks a Senior Manager for the Hardware Tools team. You will lead an organization responsible for producing hardware tools, wireless/MCU evaluation boards and associated software for the IoT business unit, leveraging both software and hardware design skills. In this role you will also manage the contract manufacturer responsible for delivering products to our customers as well as develop manufacturing software that ensures products meet Silicon Labs quality standard.

This position offers great diversity in technology. In addition to developing evaluation kits, the hardware team designs FPGA platforms used by Silicon Labs chip design teams, as well as standalone debuggers used by customers for software development. The software team develops embedded FW as well as host SW drivers, libraries and utilities that enable a variety of analysis tools offered by Silicon Labs.

As a Senior Manager for the Hardware Tools team you will interact and collaborate with the global IoT organization. You will also be a part of the Silicon Labs Norway leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SW, HW, and manufacturing management teams;
  • Plan projects, define requirements, and oversee design of HW, SW, and FW;
  • Refine existing and establish new processes for HW and SW design, development, implementation, and test;
  • Manage the business and technology relationship with contract manufacturers;
  • Review and approve key HW and SW designs;
  • Grow the team through experienced and university level recruits.

Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent education) and 5+ years of professional experience in electronics design;
  • 5+ years of management experience including both HW and SW products;
  • Embedded system designer with deep knowledge of all phases of electronic circuit design, including manufacturing and production testing;
  • Solid understanding of embedded software development;
  • Experience with schematic capture tools;
  • Genuine interest for defining and refining development processes;
  • Experience/knowledge in low-power and RF hardware design techniques;
  • Knowledge of FPGA, microcontrollers and wireless microcontrollers;
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as C/C++ and Python.
