Main tasks and responsibilities

For our De Nora Water Technology Business Unit, leading provider of equipment, systems, disinfection, and filtration solutions for water and wastewater treatment, Milan office, we are looking an Industrial Engineer, who, within the Global Strategic Initiatives function, plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions for our specific projects and products. Industrial Engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, located globally, to drive technical excellence and contribute to the success of our products. The focus of this position is the study of existing products, in terms of mechanical and system integration, its processes and how to drive innovation to optimize functionality with potential cost reductions.

Industrial Engineer is in charge for the following activities:

  • Design and Development: Lead and contribute to the optimization of design and development of products from concept to deployment, ensuring robustness, scalability, and performance;
  • Technical Expertise: Apply expertise in mechanical engineering, chemical know-how to address complex technical challenge;
  • Problem Solving: Identify and solve technical problems, making data-driven decisions and optimizing solutions for efficiency;
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including sales, engineering, proposals, legal and others to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions;
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements;
  • AD Proficiency: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) is essential;
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex mechanical systems to identify and implement effective solutions;
  • Design Expertise: Proven ability to design components and systems that meet technical specifications and compliance requirements;
  • Budgeting and Planning: Experience in estimating budgets, leading procurement activities, and time scopes for engineering programs and projects;
  • Experimental Skills: Proficiency in conducting experiments and evaluations to improve product designs while minimizing costs;
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to create comprehensive technical documents, including design specifications, reports, and manuals;
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors;
  • Manufacturing Oversight: Experience in overseeing manufacturing and supply chain processes to ensure the quality and timely production of mechanical components;
  • Project Management: Basic project management skills to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.

Education and professional experience

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, process engineering, system engineering or a similar role;
  • Any relevant certifications or licenses in mechanical engineering is a plus;
  • Previous experience in Water Treatment and Oil & Gas industries would be advantageous;
  • Proficiency in additional engineering software/tools relevant to the specific role;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory. Italian is considered an advantage. Any other language is considered a bonus.
