Job Summary

As a Chemical Engineer LES in our Quality team, you will be the subject matter expert for all aspects related to the chemical quality of products and processes. You will contribute to ensuring that our high-quality standards are upheld, as well as to the continuous improvement of the quality of our products.

Job Responsibilities

As Chemical Lab Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for all aspects related to the chemical quality of products and processes. Additionally, you will support the daily operations in the QC chemical lab, as well as coordinate tests that are performed by external suppliers.

By fulfilling your role, you will be responsible for development, implementation and validation of test methods, in line with applicable standards and regulations (initial implementation and evaluation of updates of standards). You will also be involved in qualification and lifecycle of laboratory equipment and software.

You will interact with other departments and teams to perform investigations and to implement countermeasures for deviating results, to participate in improvement projects and to provide advice during development projects.

In close collaboration with the microbiologist, you will be a key player in the biological evaluation of medical devices (ISO 10993), in which you will be responsible for material characterization and the coordination of Extractable & Leachable studies.

As Subject Matter Expert, you will the first point of contact for internal (e.g. production, engineering, RA, QC) and external customers. Therefore, you will be required to act as a spokesperson during customer audits and regulatory inspections.

You will also contribute to the execution of calibration activities of measurement instruments in our labs and production plants.

Profile Description

  • You are enthusiastic and driven about complementing our highly qualified and international LES team.
  • You have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a chemistry-related orientation. An equivalent that is provided through experience, will also qualify.
  • You can look back on a previous working experience of at least 5 years.
  • You possess detailed knowledge concerning chemical methods, test methods, validation and state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. Additionally, a substantial amount of knowledge related to ISO standards, as well as European and US pharmacopoeia is required.
  • Possessing the technical skills, concerning calibration, will be regarded as an asset.
  • You are IT literate, as well as proficient in both Statistics and Analytical Chemistry.
  • You are a self-driver, organized and accurate. In addition, you possess good people skills and are able to communicate efficiently on different levels.
  • You are fluent in English. This entails both verbal and written skills. Being fluent in Dutch is a plus.
