Responsibilities...

  • Electrical engineering team lead for internal automotive products;
  • Lead development of electrical products, looms, sensors and interconnections for the system;
  • Hardware related systems engineering & architecture definition and documentation;
  • Development of internal test rigs;
  • Fault resolution & reporting for the project;
  • Creation and ownership of test plans and test requests.

Be skilled at…

  • Engineering world class solutions to requests in line with departmental policies and procedures;
  • Continually deliver high performance, whilst improving reliability;
  • Champion best practices, and be the gate-keeper for the quality of engineering within their Team;
  • Leading and developing a Team of Mechanical Engineers who have designated areas of ‘Specialism';
  • Represent their Team in the key meetings including, Faults Meeting, Performance & Innovation meeting;
  • Develop departmental processes to support world class engineering within our racing environment;
  • Develop their Team through coaching, 1:1’s, objective setting, and mid and end of year reviews;
  • The health and safety of direct reports and others within the work environment;
  • Day to day management of employees and employment issues;
  • Adhere to company policy, procedure and UK legislation.

Have experience of…

  • Operating in a challenging electronics engineering environment;
  • Design & development of automotive electronic systems;
  • Working with hazardous voltage (1kV) and high power electrical drive systems (100kW+);
  • Analysing & understanding complex data;
  • Loom and sensor design;
  • Automotive electrical engineering systems & safety;
  • Documentation of electronic design.

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • Electronic system engineering principles (excellent);
  • Automotive hybrid systems operation (strong);
  • Electronic hardware design (analogue & digital - advanced);
  • Standards for the design and production of HV & LV automotive electronic products.

Hold these qualifications…

  • BEng/BSc Qualified (2:1 minimum) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or allied discipline;
  • MEng/MSc Qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or allied discipline.
