Job Description:

The Supplier Quality Engineer for Purchased Materials aims to ensure that all bought products for in Europe are defined and produced according to Ecolab, customers and interested parties’ requirements and that it follows the specifications and legal requirements. This role also has the responsibility to ensure that the products are reliable and in compliance with engineering and product specifications. This person should act as an ambassador for quality assurance.

The Supplier Quality Engineer is meticulous about meeting Ecolab requirements, standards, policies market needs and any other regulatory requirements applicable.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will need to act as a liaise with managers and different relevant functions throughout Ecolab to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly, and the quality of the product is met and improved according to expectations.

The person needs to act and promote quality within all divisions following the instructions established by the Regional Vice President for Quality and MPD and the Regional Supplier Quality for Europe. Major stakeholders: MPD&Q Global and Europe, RDE Chemistry Europe, Procurement Europe.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will manage the quality aspects of the SCAR (supplier corrective action request) process in Europe requiring close liaison with plants, RD&E, procurement and the external supply base.

Special focus is on Suppliers assessment, introduction of new products and production process validation, are the essence of this role, in collaboration with procurement and RDE departments.

Main Responsibilities:

The Supplier Engineer is in charge to:

  • Support Global team on Supplier improvement process
  • Assess new suppliers with regards to Global Ecolab process
  • Manage the quality aspects of SCAR process and KPI’s
  • Support the new introduction program new components
  • Deploy and assure HACCP requirements
  • Be the key support of Stake holders on improvement and/or sourcing
  • Audit the system and the process of the suppliers
  • Work on new procedure or maintain current ones according International Standards
  • Work into a matrix organization and provide support to the divisions
  • Provide continuous improvement on Supplier data base and product
  • Support advance project on quality planning (GTT)
  • Give an energic support on MPDQ saving program
  • Quality connection to external supply base

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree in Chemistry 5 years of experience managing quality systems with three in relation with Supplier quality and ideally in relation with Procurement and/or RDE.

General Skills and attributes:

  • Experience in a QA Management Role within an Engineering/Manufacturing production process environment, and experience in chemistry production process (e.g. blenders) where relevant formal qualification is required.
  • Technical skills in RDE/production process continuous improvement
  • Full understanding on the requirements for the product or service and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition.
  • HACCP requirement and ISO 22000 certification expertise
  • Excellent communicator – verbal and written – with the ability to persuade and influence.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Confident and Assertive.
  • Resourceful, well organized, efficient and detail orientated.
  • Excellent knowledge on data analysis/statistical methods.
  • Understanding and appreciate other people's work disciplines, such as manufacturing, operations, procurement and RD&E.
  • Ethical conscientious and responsible.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizes multiple projects, addresses multiple issues and handles multiple deadlines, in a hands-on environment.
  • Comfortable with IT systems – data analysis – SAP/ERP

Other Skills and attributes:

  • Proven ability to work in a global organization across regions.
  • Fluent in English – Other language(s) are a plus.
  • Travel ~ 30%.
