Integrated within the Engineering department, the Mechanical Engineer performs/manages/follows/supervises mechanical activities on project. Supported by Mechanical Leader and Mechanical Principle Engineer the Mechanical Engineer will design Jet aviation’s design principles and will ensure that there are well integrated all along the project.

Description/Tasks:

  • Support to Quotation for RMU Project - CMPL Project and perform small project quotation if required;
  • Perform technical aircraft survey (pictures, dimensions, 3D scan…);
  • Prepare and collect all data’s, clarify quotation, valid and secure hours sold and assumptions _on small project;
  • Define the way of working and deliverables in order to match with the project requirements assumptions;
  • Design mechanical design principle (MNT and STR), system architecture during the project upfront phase, under the supervision of the Mechanical Leader and under Mechanical Principle Engineer validation;
  • Define properly the mechanical interfaces with supplier, ensure various support and follow-up;
  • Ensure Lessons Learn are well integrated on project _ discipline level;
  • Distribute and Prioritize tasks and sub-projects among the project assigned staff in reference to the available manpower capacity, staff skills and tasks constraints_ discipline level (optional);
  • Realize engineering 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical parts, assembly and installation drawings as per:
    • Engineering mechanical design rules and processes (material and processes guideline, sheet metal rules, machined rules, standard and fasteners selection and installation rules, bonding and grounding….);
    • CPR instructions;
    • BIGs.
  • Motivate and guide permanent or temporary assigned staff to reach the goals (schedule, quality and cost) set by the projects/department/JA/GD_ discipline level (optional);
  • Ensure a design to weight and design to cost approach in accordance with project requirement _ discipline level;
  • Develop engineering tools, methods and processed, within the department scope (could be supported by IT) _ optional;
  • Perform Continuous Improvement initiatives;
  • React and address immediately risk items to N+1, identify and chase project roadblocks and identify all gaps between the activity performed and the scope sold to the customer;
  • Involve all relevant expertise (Production Engineering, stress, CVE, Flammability, shops…) to secure your activity, analyze feedbacks and integrate relevant remarks 
  • Rework (Revision, DS, Concession, red Line) on 3D Parts, assembly drawing and installation drawing;
  • Act as design checker _ within the discipline _ preferred;
  • Act as design releaser _ preferred;
  • Act as a change specialist during PIR phase if required;
  • Prepare-Check-Release certification and compliance documentation _ on small project_ optional;
  • Participate and/or witness tests and prepare the corresponding report as required;
  • Lead mechanical activity on a MTX small project;
  • Lead a mechanical discipline (Monument_Structure_System) on CMPL project or a MOD on MTX RMU project;
  • Can be assigned as Mechanical Leader’s backups if required.

Qualification/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in functional area or related professional field from an accredited university;
  • Minimum of 5 years in VIP Engineering mechanical domains and Management;
  • Able to perform differentiator concepts (mechanism, kinematic);
  • Proficient with CAE & CAD tools (i.e. AutoCAD, Catia V5, Siemens NX, TeamCenter, etc.), and Microsoft Office;
  • Good and positive communication as per Jet Values, team spirit;
  • Comfortable to work in a stressful and highly demanding environment;
  • Language English (mandatory), French and/or German (would be an asset).
