As Electronic Hardware Engineer in our team, you are responsible for the hardware design, fabrication, firmware development, and production qualification of embedded controls for industrial products as well as maintain electronic hardware that exists in all of Flowserve’s Smart Valve-related products. Drives new technology and product innovation. Identifies and assesses future industry trends taking into account technology innovation, industry and product development

In addition, you:

  • Define and implement board level designs that will meet the specifications for PDP, NPD and DtV products that meet performance, cost, and quality, and industrial certification requirements.
  • Analyze the electronic requirements necessary to run Flowserve’s Smart Products, and determine the feasibility detailed design of the electronics working with mechanical designers and embedded code developers.
  • Create hardware Design requirements documents for Smart Products being developed by Flowserve.
  • Use CAD software to create and modify electrical schematics.
  • Complete multilayer board layout and routing.
  • Troubleshoot problems with our Smart Products and fix any problems related to the embedded code.
  • Work with programmers to define the interactions with the user interface software.
  • Perform intrinsic safety design analysis and create reports and documentation needed for certification.
  • Create validation test plans and test the functionality of the embedded code and electronic hardware. Fix hardware issues and recommend embedded code solutions where needed.
  • Create and maintain documentation relating to the hardware and assist in the creation of user manuals and technical references.

You are our ideal colleague if you

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience minimum 5-10 years.
  • Working knowledge of electronic CAD software preferably Altium.
  • Solid understanding of EMI/RFI protection.
  • Knowledge of common electronic communication standards, practices, and theories.
  • Experience with microprocessor or microcontroller theory.
  • Experience in process control industry and intrinsically safe design practices
  • Knowledge of industrial communication physical layer.
  • Experience designing equipment to operate in high EMI/RFI environments.
  • Familiarity with design requirements required for international standards such as ATEX and IECEX.
  • Working knowledge low power electronics and sensors.
  • Experienced in design of variable speed industrial motor controllers.
