A vacancy for a Scientist Electrical Systems (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn. The successful applicant will join "XRE Electrification Technologies" within Technology X.

The job holder covers some of the key competencies for Electrical Systems expertise, ensuring they will be available and developed within the Central R&T team and for the benefit of CTO Demonstrator projects, focused on breakthrough technologies for the next generation of products.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

For Electrical system/sub-syst/modul/eq/componenent:

  • provide sufficient detailed data and information about system elements to enable the implementation consistent with architectural entities as defined in models and views of the system architecture and in accordance with the allocated requirements;
  • Verify the compliance of a detailed design solution toward baseline of validated requirements for a single sub-system/equipment/component/module.

The job holder covers some of the key competencies for Electrical Systems expertise, ensuring they will be available and developed within the Central R&T team and for the benefit of CTO Demonstrator projects, focused on breakthrough technologies for the next generation of products.

Your profile:

  • Master Degree in electrical engineering;
  • Knowledge in Electrical components and power electronics development by test and simulation;
  • Experience in FEM simulation and CAD knowledge to generate models for simulation and drawings for test elements;
  • Experience with Finite element simulation of physical behavior of electrical systems. Therefore simulation of electrical and magnetic fields, thermal simulations including conduction, radiation and flow as well as mechanical loads for example because of thermal stress;
  • Basic knowledge on power electronics components, energy storage and cooling systems should be part of the education;
  • Practical experience in lab work and electrical test setups to support hardware related research and to prepare and verify FEM simulations is appreciated;
  • Curious, innovative and research oriented personality;
  • Open-minded to changes;
  • Excellent English Skills written and oral.
