Responsible for quality of Process Engineering work produced within the Department (10+ FTEs, different disciplines: process/mechanical/piping/instrumentation &control) and the delivery of agreed process design scope within budget hours, schedule.
Manage the day to day tasks of the process department:
Resource planning to ensure correct balance of resources to meet the projected workload
Ensure activities follow company workflows.
Maintain strong client relationships to attract win and deliver projects.
Provide leadership to the team, communicate company/team/individual goals and set clear performance expectations.
Responsibility for the process graduate development programme.
Recruitment and development of personnel – internal training, performance appraisals, mentoring, implementing the Career & Competencies Framework etc. for all personnel in the process department.
All performance management and reward activities for the department.
Support proposal preparation, developing hours estimates and deliverables lists, writing project execution methodologies and preparing and leading proposals for process led projects
Develop systems to improve and standardize project execution.
Lead project governance activities such as single discipline design reviews and project health checks.
Maintain and improve quality standards within the department.
Demonstrate and promote core values and codes of practice within the Department.
Raising the profile of the Process Engineering Department by maintaining existing and developing new client relationships
Ensure there is a good communication within the Department and develop positive morale and team spirit.
Engage and support the alignment/continuous development of inter-office workshare across several company locations
Coordination of the Process Design Team to achieve project deliverables, potential parallel involvement as Lead Process Engineer on projects.
Technical input and support for Process Design Team, lead Technical and Safety reviews
Interfacing with client design team/end user
Master degree in the field of Chemical and Process or Mechanical Engineering or similar related discipline
10+ years of overall professional experience in process engineering, preferable in multi discipline engineering environment.
Proven experience in design leadership of complex projects for food, cosmetics, pharma, chemical, advanced manufacturing or similar industries with responsibility for wide range of process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing and calculations, mass and energy balances/process and utility usage models, HAZOPs etc.
Experience in coordination of process design with other design disciplines and equipment suppliers.
Experience in team management and development.
