Lead Engineer - Production Engineering

As technical lead you will be the "go-to" person and accountable for the technical requirement specifications (TRS) in your area, in particular within equipment for grinding and paint process, carbon processing dispense equipment for glue and resin as well as grinding and paint processes. In addition, your responsibilities will cover to:

  • set safety as first priority, hereby in line with HS&E policy;
  • responsible for providing the most robust, reliable, efficient solutions with highest performance at the lowest cost;
  • challenge specification inputs to aim for the right specification level;
  • deliver design work towards gate reviews, matching specifications for function, cost, quality and time;
  • generate creative solutions to design challenges, in order to fulfill the product and technology road maps;
  • ensure adherence to all external standards as e.g. CE & UL standards etc. as well as internal specifications and standards;
  • work successfully with stakeholders and project delivery teams by living up to the Vestas Values;
  • Familiarize yourself with Vestas Way to Market and ensure adherence to methodology and tools;
  • supporting Blade Factories and the local Technical departments during new product introduction and running production.


We expect you to have:

  • an engineering degree on Bachelor level or higher probably within Mechanical Engineering;
  • solid experience from a similar role;
  • extensive knowledge from Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing;
  • experience and proven results from larger manufacturing companies;
  • participated in cost out or value engineering projects.


  • Capable of driving technical projects across departments and cultures. Ideally certified in or experience with project management;
  • Capable of solving problems by using relevant methods and tools, e.g. six Sigma or similar;
  • Experienced in making risk assessment by using relevant FMEA tools;
  • Fluent in verbal and written English;
  • Experience with 3D CAD modelling;
  • Capable of ensuring sufficient technical requirements;
  • Strong documentation and specification skills;
  • Ambitious and collaborative mindset towards colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Ability to communicate technically complex issues in an easily understandable way to stakeholders at different levels.
