The MICAS research group in the Electronic Circuits and Systems (ECS) division of the department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT), Group Science and Technology of KU Leuven is an international player in integrated circuit (IC) design research. We collaborate with both large and small electronics companies, semiconductor foundries, research institutes and other universities worldwide to advance the state of the art in chip design of analog, mixed-signal, digial, RF and mm-wave ICs, striving for improved energy consumption, performance and area footprints. We design most of our circuits in advanced silicon CMOS technologies, at this moment down to 12nm feature sizes, but also HV technologies, GaN, Flex-IGZO, etc. are part of our portfolio.
The complexity of the design methods, EDA tools and (PDK) models used in IC design increases along with the technology going to ever smaller dimensions and the circuits going to ever higher accuracy, higher frequency and lower energy requirements. To help our research team, which consists of about 65 PhD research design engineers, to cope with this growing complexity, the MICAS research group is looking for an IC design support engineer.
