The design engineer will work on the development of the next generation products for Automotive LiDAR required for ADAS and Autonomous Driving vehicles. These products combine onsemi Depth Sensing division’s market leading SPAD and SiPM sensors with leading edge CMOS circuitry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analog and mixed-signal design ideally with experience in sensor read-out circuits and systems. The position will involve reviewing and contributing to architectural development and pixel design using leading edge CMOS fabrication technology. This position will suit an experienced analog or mixed-signal design engineer who is looking to work in a new and dynamic area with an innovative market leading company poised for rapid growth.



  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Optoelectronics or Physics;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in analog or mixed-signal analog IC Design;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a team;
  • Experience designing analog or analog mixed signal circuitry and layout;
  • Detailed module design, performance analysis and design specification creation;
  • Layout of ASICs and ASSPs;
  • Experience working on a project from chip specification to tapeout with a continuous track record of tapeouts and increasing roles of responsibility;
  • Expertise in the use of industry standard integrated circuit design, simulation and verification tools (Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, etc.);
  • Direct and review IC layout at the circuit and floor planning levels;
  • Interfacing with FPGA, software and firmware engineers to resolve hardware issues;
  • Semiconductor device physics knowledge is required;
  • Clear communication of project status and group needs to management.


  • Post graduate Masters or PhD degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Experience with ISO 26262 and IATF 16949;
  • Automotive functional safety;
  • Layout of SiPM and/or SPAD sensors;
  • SPAD quenching & TDC circuitry;
  • Customer interface experience;
  • Working with test and product engineers to support test development and ramp to production;
  • Experience with test and measurement requirements and ability to prescribe the testing required to validate fabricated designs;
  • Coaching and mentoring less experienced team members in design tools and AMS design.
