About Senior Embedded Software Engineer:

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will join a highly motivated and efficient team of engineers that design and implement all embedded software of our Dexter surgical robotics platform. You will contribute on defining the software architecture and developing the embedded software of the robot in compliance with Medical Device quality and regulatory requirements.


  • Design, develop and maintain embedded software of Dexter robot, in close collaboration with the Software Verification & Validation and Hardware development teams;
  • Author software requirements, architecture, and design specification documents;
  • Maintain current embedded software in C;
  • Contribute defining the software architecture of the new embedded software platform using C/C++;
  • Participate to software risk management activities;
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and interface;
  • Participate to software design reviews, code reviews and risk analysis;
  • Troubleshoot anomalies by performing root cause analysis;
  • Use a proactive approach and share common challenges;
  • Ensure compliance of software and documentation with our quality processes and medical;
  • device standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485).


  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in embedded software development;
  • A university degree in a discipline relevant to embedded software such as Computer Science, Electronics and Electrical Engineering;
  • Expert in embedded C/C++ programming;
  • Experienced with real-time operating systems (Ideally QNX and Safe-RTOS);
  • Experienced with real-time applications as well as with low-level embedded software architecture & design, including digital signal processing, driver implementation, field bus communication systems (i.e., CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, …);
  • Experienced in modelling embedded software architecture using UML/SysML or similar;
  • Experienced with static test analysis and unit testing methods;
  • Team-oriented, problem solving and able to track and document his work;
  • Nice to have, experience with the CANopen communication protocol;
  • English in spoken and written form is a must. French and German nice to have.
