You will be responsible for defining and implementing solutions to enhance the daily work of the Embedded Software developers at BMW.
These initiatives are focused on tooling (e.g., Cloud Workspace, Automation), methods and processes – the goal is to bring Developer Experience to the next level.
You push the implementation of tooling solutions - all the way from concept to code.
You will explore cutting edge technology and integrate it into the daily developer workflow along with the respective processes – together with a team of experienced DevOps engineers, SRE engineers and tool developers.
Key part of your responsibility is aligning direction and priorities of the activities with the users of our services as well was with other Practices.
Over time, you will push the evolution of the initiatives into a production-ready state and integrate it into our highly scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure.
To ensure smooth DevOps operations, you will lead and coordinate a team of external DevOps engineers.

University degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study.
At least 5 years of developing and testing software with Python in a professional environment with a profound understanding of modern software development.
Professional experience in modern cloud technologies like AWS/Azure/GCP, Continuous Integration and technologies such as GitHub, Zuul CI, etc.
Practical experience with Linux and Shell scripting and infrastructure automation (Ansible, Pulumi, virtualization and container orchestration technologies like Docker).
Very good understanding of the challenges and requirements of Embedded Software developers and the knowledge to implement solutions to address these needs.
Experience with leading smaller teams or steering external suppliers.
Business-fluent English.
