About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager to join an internationally established team at Kongsberg Automotive. This position involves close collaboration with colleagues and customers across Europe so if you are self-motivated, with a background in Automotive Engineering and enjoy supporting and working closely with people across the globe, this may be the position for you.

The right candidate will be responsible for the clients' projects with a clear focus on vehicle dynamics /transmission/steering actuators, their definition and the management of the teams for the fulfillment of the agreed objectives (QCT) and through the KA Management System within the Business area. Take product or system projects, from idea to production execution in some of the manufacturing plants in KA and, monitoring of new opportunities with customers defined in cooperation with the commercial department, too.


  • Leading projects for actuators mainly for commercial vehicles.
  • Definition and monitoring of project goals, milestones, and budgets.
  • Review project budgets ensuring that projects are delivered within 100% of the approved budget at the start of the project, implementing recovery plans when this figure is exceeded.
  • Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, developers and customers.
  • Coordination of activities between different departments and international branches.
  • Be Responsible and Report on the status of the project/program to the Steering Committee (STC).
  • Organize and Lead project meetings as required (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) with internal and customer project teams to ensure Kongsberg meets customer requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards, internal and external processes and schedules.
  • Identification and management of risks, as well as the development of solutions.
  • Manage successfully Engineering Change Requests to increase profitability of the project and meet technical requirements.
  • Communication with external partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ensure that Project documents are created, maintained and updated through the PLM structure.
  • Establish project rules and best practice routines. Organize and prioritize time between managing multiple projects. Budget tracking and monthly forecast update.


  • Completed degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience in project management in the automotive industry.
  • Sound knowledge in the field of electro actuators, transmission actuation, vehicle dynamic components or comparable drive technologies to support our Business Area.
  • International project experience and intercultural competence.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills in English, additional language skills (e.g. German, Swedish, Norwegian…) are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Power Office user (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge in IATF 16949:2016.
  • APQP Knowledge.
  • Recommended knowledge in SAP and PLM.
