Satellite Sales Engineer

OHB Sweden

Stockholm, Sweden

OHB Sweden is a leading provider of satellites and satellite sub-systems for Low-Earth-Orbit, geostationary and interplanetary missions. We develop, build, test and operate space systems for missions within communications, earth observation, space research and exploration. Our activity focus is small satellites as well as on propulsion subsystems (chemical and electric) and innovative Attitude & Orbit Control Systems (AOCS).

The company is now expanding very quickly and we need to expand our team with a passionate Satellite Sales Engineer ready to enable our customers’ space ambitions. We are looking for a technical engineer with a creative and solution-oriented mindset and a strong commercial drive.

As a Satellite Sales Engineer at OHB Sweden you will work in our Business Development & Sales Department and play a key role in our business growth. You will interact heavily with our existing and new customer base where you will need to understand our customers’ needs and match them with our business portfolio. The tasks include both technical and commercial assessments, proposal writing and negotiations with the customer. Furthermore, you will also actively participate (or lead) early design studies and pre-development activities. We expect you to be able to work independently and in collaboration with expert staff as required to establish the best possible solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant engineering field, preferably in space related disciplines;
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Experience in writing proposals in advanced technical systems, preferably satellite system related;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical material to both a technical and non-technical audience;
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written;
  • Located in, or willingness to relocate to the Stockholm area in Sweden.

Added advantageous qualifications:

  • Experience from space missions, satellites and subsystems is an advantage, especially in the fields of small satellites, propulsion or AOCS in one or more of a project’s life cycle starting from feasibility analysis (Phase A) through Preliminary Design (Phase B) and project implementation (Phases C/D/E);
  • Swedish proficiency both in spoken and written.

Being a company with around 100 international employees and growing, much of the expertise lies on the employee to handle tasks autonomously, efficiently and work closely with colleagues, suppliers and customers. As you will have a lot of external contacts an outgoing personality is essential. Travel will be required for both customer meetings as well for conferences and events.

If you are highly motivated to participate in the development of future space systems, feel confident that you meet the above requirements and want to find yourself in a dynamic and inspiring work environment, then we look forward to hearing from you!
