Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Engineering Management

  • Manage and lead ‘Systems Engineering’ activities across all projects.
  • Develop strategy to achieve compliance to ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015 Systems and software engineering - System life cycle processes and implement this strategy.
  • Align compliance work on 15288 to CMMI maturity levels.
  • Manage the systems engineering technical budget.
  • Apply the Requirements/Technical Quality Plan.
  • Supervise and coordinate all systems engineering technical tasks required to realize project objectives, whether those tasks are undertaken in house or by Suppliers/Sub-Contractors.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers and Sub-Contractors to resolve technical queries within their scope.

Quality

  • Advocate for the adoption of best practices in Systems Engineering and Electrical Power Transmission to improve the delivery of the Engineering function.

Health and Safety

  • Actively and routinely promote the identification of hazards and EHS risks in own area of operation and objects of design. Provide insight to leaders, customers and colleagues with respect to own safety and systems and product integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field.
  • Hands on/practical experience of implementing a ‘Systems Engineering’ approach into a business.
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM® Engineering Requirements Management DOORS 9.7.0.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team environment.
  • Willing to travel as required.
  • High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset.
  • Be able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Be proactive in identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in HVDC Power Transmission industry or similar field.
  • Experience in Low Systems Engineering maturity environment.
  • Experience in working in a consortium project environment.
  • A good understanding of dependability management and relevant industry standards.
