Electronic Engineer

VeroTech

Leuven, Belgium

About the role

As an Electronics drive systems certification engineer, you support the certification of safety and EMC compliance across eight target countries. Working in close contact with a third-party certification body and internal electronics, software and product development teams, you keep the program on track, prepare the technical files and test data, and make sure issues are resolved through to closure.

This VeroTech consultancy assignment combines technical documentation, follow-up of testing activities and critical review of reports. You will help maintain a clear certification dossier per product and country, while coordinating actions, samples and responses to information requests when certification findings need further investigation.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the certification program across eight target countries, including applicable standards, scope and timelines
  • Act as the main technical point of contact with the third-party certification body for safety and EMC certification activities
  • Prepare and maintain complete technical files, including schematics, drawings, component data and test data for each product and country
  • Track ongoing testing and review activities, coordinate samples and equipment, and keep a central overview of status, actions and deadlines
  • Review test plans and critically assess test and validation reports, flagging discrepancies, non-conformities and ambiguous results
  • Investigate certification issues with electronics, software and product development engineers, then drive corrective actions, re-testing and documentation to closure

What we're looking for

We are looking for a structured and proactive electronics professional with strong documentation skills, solid analytical thinking and a clear affinity for certification work. You work independently, communicate well with stakeholders and keep several parallel tracks under control.

  • Master's degree in Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent through experience
  • Solid understanding of electronics design principles and drive or motor control systems
  • Working knowledge of safety and EMC certification processes and standards, with prior experience in external test labs or certification bodies as a plus
  • Strong technical documentation skills for schematics, BOMs, technical files, test and validation reports
  • Good analytical skills to critically review test and validation reports and spot discrepancies or non-conformities
  • Fluent English, written and spoken, is required; additional languages are a plus
  • Comfortable with MS Office and engineering tools such as PLM/ERP systems and CAD or schematic tools
  • Structured, proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently while keeping stakeholders informed of status and risks
