The selected candidate will report hierarchically to the Head of Engineering Operations and/or their Deputy.
The main duties will be:
Execution of general mechanical maintenance tasks at industrial level.
Management and resolution of operations and maintenance incidents.
Responsibility for the maintenance management of parts or subsystems.
Development of calculations, documents, and technical specifications.
Planning and management of work involving internal and external personnel.
Participation in integration, verification, and commissioning tests.
Use of databases to analyze information on the status of systems.
Management of work packages, and related activities within their field of expertise.
Administrative tasks related to the management of purchases and contracts with external companies.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
First-cycle university degree QF-EHEA (MECES Level 2) in Mechanical Engineering.
Full current driving license (level B or higher).
Experience, Knowledge and Specific Core Competencies:
Knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of components and/or parts using design and calculation tools.
Experience in the measurement, adjustment, and verification of machines and mechanical systems.
Knowledge and experience in the calculation, design, and implementation of structures, welded joints, and bolted connections.
Knowledge and experience in hydraulic and pneumatic installations.
Knowledge and experience in planning and managing maintenance work involving internal and external personnel.
Knowledge and previous professional experience in astronomical facilities, specifically domes, observing shutters, rotation systems, or opto-mechanical systems.
Effective communication in Spanish.
Effective communication in English.
Experience and/or Knowledge in Complementary Specific Competencies:
MECES 3 (Official Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design and Product Development, or similar).
Training in project management.
Knowledge of vibration control and thermal control, including thermal stability.
Knowledge and experience in drafting technical specifications and managing contracts in the public sector.
Knowledge and experience with tools for calculation and finite element analysis, as well as CAD design, such as Creo Parametric, AutoCAD/DraftSight/ZWCAD, Ansys, or similar.
Experience in the use of CMMS tools and, specifically, in the design and implementation of advanced maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, or prescriptive maintenance.
Experience in general workshop tasks.
Ability to work in a team, adapt to change, self-organise, and act proactively.
