Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer

ARX Robotics

Munich, Germany

About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ARX Robotics, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing our cutting-edge, off-road robotic vehicles. This is a role for a creative and hands-on engineer who wants to see their ideas move from initial concept to a finished product operating in the real world.

You will tackle complex mechanical challenges, collaborating closely with our electrical and software teams to create robust, reliable, and highly capable autonomous systems. Your work will directly contribute to the entire product lifecycle, shaping the physical backbone of platforms that are built to perform in the most demanding environments.

What You'll Build

  • Design and develop the core mechanical systems for our robotic vehicles, from initial 3D CAD concepts to detailed component and integration designs;
  • Create and own the critical technical documentation that brings your designs to life, including detailed production drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs);
  • Partner with our electrical and software engineers to ensure the seamless integration of all hardware and software components;
  • Solve complex mechanical engineering challenges with a practical, hands-on mindset;
  • Optimize your designs for manufacturability, durability, weight, and serviceability in harsh, real-world conditions;
  • Guide your creations through the entire development process, from early prototyping and rigorous testing to final production readiness.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in machinery, automotive, or robotics engineering;
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (we use Autodesk Inventor, but experience with similar software is welcome);
  • A strong background in creating detailed technical models and production-ready drawings;
  • Practical knowledge of common manufacturing processes, especially metal fabrication (sheet metal, CNC machining, welding);
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative team environment;
  • A proactive, independent work ethic and a strong sense of ownership over your projects;
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German proficiency is a plus.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
