Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Engineering Supervisor will provide technical leadership and support to equipment technicians across in the Packaging area of our Engineering team. Manage the shift technicians, equipment, and line performance through specific maintenance KPI’s. This role also involves supporting cross-functional departments as needed to help maintain an optimal operations environment.

Where you come in:

  • You will supervise and coordinate the activities of equipment technicians during the assigned shift, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • You will review PM (Preventative Maintenance) and CM (Corrective Maintenance) activities in Maximo as part of maintenance oversight.
  • You will delegate preventative maintenance tasks and oversee corrective maintenance activities.
  • You will review and approve technician time and attendance records as required.
  • You will supervise projects such as layout moves, equipment assembly, and validation report execution.
  • You will deliver monthly performance updates through one-on-one meetings with each technician.
  • You will coordinate or conduct technician training as needed to maintain skill levels and support development.
  • You will work closely alongside the Production Supervisor to ensure smooth and effective shift operations.
  • You will recognise when to step in and provide hands-on support, particularly in escalation scenarios or when critical decisions are required.
  • You will maintain and report on department metrics such as OEE, Yield and other related KPIs related to equipment performance and maintenance.
  • You will ensure full compliance with all safety procedures, including Dexcom’s Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program and all other relevant safety protocols.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to sustain equipment and to support equipment deployment and improvement initiatives.
  • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment documentation (manuals, drawings, specifications).

What makes you successful:

  • Previous experience of leading a technical team and managing technicians in a similar role is preferred i.e Technician Supervisor, Lead Technician etc.
  • You have previous experience in a technical role i.e. technician, engineer etc.
  • You have ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
  • You have ability to write routine reports, shift reports and correspondence.
  • You have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
  • You have the knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro/Mechanical systems, Resistance welders, Packaging equipment highly desirable.
  • You have experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
  • You have proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • You possess an excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
  • You have a knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • You have technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires an NFQ Level 7 or Level 8 qualification and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience.
