The role focuses on managing the delivery projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with classification society rules, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and schedule performance.
Key Accountabilities
Lead and manage electrical system projects, including safety systems and normal systems like socket, data, lighting.
Prepare, review, and approve electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
Ensure all designs and installations comply with classification society rules and marine electrical codes.
Coordinate with project engineers, naval architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
Identify and resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and advanced solutions to achieve project objectives.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning oversight as needed.
Support mentoring and development of junior electrical engineers within the project team.
Communicate effectively with clients, shipyards, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering projects in the maritime industry, including experience as a project engineer or project manager.
Proven experience with ship newbuilding and conversion projects.
Strong technical knowledge of marine electrical systems, including power distribution, automation, and control systems.
Good experience with AutoCAD and familiarity with rule calculation software.
Knowledge of classification society rules and marine electrical codes.
Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while coordinating project teams.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools.
Availability to travel.
