Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the internal coordination and technical execution of projects, ensuring delivery in line with agreed timelines, quality, and technical requirements. This role leads cross-functional teams and collaborates closely with the Customer Account Managers to scope projects based on client requirements and company capabilities, and then coordinates the R&D, quality and production departments for successful project delivery.

Main areas of responsibility and tasks

Project Planning and Management

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation;
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Process Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders to align process development efforts with organizational goals;
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project milestones are achieved;
  • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely delivery.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with primary contact (Customer Account Manager) keeping stakeholders informed of project status, risks, and issues;
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams. Collaborate closely with R&D, Process Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders to align process development efforts with organizational goals;
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet technical specifications and quality standards;
  • Address and resolve technical issues promptly.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies;
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Implement contingency plans as needed.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across different processes to ensure all deliverables meet quality and regulatory standards;
  • Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and yield.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date;
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and records;
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management.

Requirements

Education

  • Master Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar. PhD battery related topic is a plus.

Additional trainings

  • Training or certification in Project Management or related fields.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and/or product development, preferably in the Automotive or battery cell manufacturing industry;
  • Essential to have strong experience in battery cell development (Li-ion batteries or next generation batteries) understanding for automotive and non-automotive applications;
  • Prior experience in battery cell design and tests (electrochemical and safety);
  • Also, experience with new product introduction (NPI) process and development validation activities.

Languages

  • Fluent in English; other European languages are advantageous.
