Technical Chief of Staff

Technical Chief of Staff

R3 Robotics

Luxembourg

Your Role

We are looking for a Technical Chief of Staff to work closely with our technical leadership and play a key role in shaping, scaling, and executing our engineering vision. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with a strong background in mechanical engineering, robotics, or industrial automation, who thrives at the intersection of innovation, prototyping, and operations.

You will act as a multiplier for the technical leadership, helping translate ideas into executable projects, supporting day-to-day technical operations, and driving forward new concepts—from early prototypes to industrialized solutions.

Your Responsibilities

Technical Strategy & Innovation

  • Act as a sparring partner to the technical leadership on technical direction, system architecture, and innovation opportunities;
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose new technical concepts, automation solutions, and process improvements;
  • Lead early-stage ideation, feasibility studies, and prototyping of new disassembly, automation, or robotics concepts;
  • Stay up to date on trends in industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing technologies, bringing relevant ideas into the organization.

Prototyping & Project Execution

  • Drive proof-of-concepts and prototypes from idea to validated solution;
  • Support the transition from prototype to industrial-scale systems;
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical projects involving mechanical, electrical, software, and operations teams;
  • Help define technical requirements, timelines, risks, and success metrics.

Operational & Leadership Support

  • Support technical leadership in planning, prioritization, and execution of key initiatives;
  • Act as a bridge between engineering, operations, product, and external partners;
  • Help unblock technical challenges and accelerate decision-making;
  • Prepare technical briefings, decision documents, and status updates for leadership.

Process & Scale-Up Support

  • Contribute to the development of engineering best practices, documentation, and standards;
  • Support the scaling of technical operations across multiple sites or deployments;
  • Assist with supplier evaluations, technical due diligence, and partner discussions when needed.

Your profile

  • Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field;
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial systems, automation, robotics, or complex machinery;
  • Hands-on experience with system design, prototyping, and industrialization;
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on: from whiteboard concepts to shop-floor realities;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset;
  • Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex technical topics clearly to different audiences;
  • Naturally curious, proactive, and motivated to build things that matter.
