Junior Systems Engineer

Junior Systems Engineer

eRC-System

Ottobrunn, Germany

Your Mission

As Junior Systems Engineer, your mission is to integrate, develop, and validate our flight control and avionics and electrical systems, ensuring they work reliably and seamlessly in our eVTOL aircraft.

You contribute across the full development lifecycle — from requirements engineering and system design to integration and testing — bridging hardware and software to bring complex systems to flight readiness. By defining interfaces, analyzing communication architectures, and supporting flight tests, you play a key role in transforming system concepts into safe, high-performing airborne systems.

Working in a highly interdisciplinary environment, you collaborate closely with system, software, and hardware teams while continuously improving tools, methods, and technical concepts to shape the next generation of aerial mobility.

Your Profile

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Have first experience (internships, projects, or professional) in the area of your responsibilities described above.
  • Have strong motivation to work with hardware and software and get them ready to fly.
  • Have knowledge in aerospace product development, including requirements engineering and requirements-driven development.
  • Have practical skills in (aviation) data buses.
  • Have a high level of self-management with the ability to work in a team, as well as an autonomous, target-oriented, and driven work style with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Have excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.

Moreover, it would be helpful if you also

  • Have hands-on experience with flight control systems or avionics architectures.
  • Have experience with requirements management tools.
  • Have basic understanding of safety-critical development processes (e.g., ARP4754, DO178/DO254).
  • Bring experience in system integration and testing.
  • Have exposure to flight testing or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.

Your Tasks

  • Integrate our flight control, avionics and electrical components and conduct system and component tests.
  • Develop requirements and designs for flight control, avionics and electrical systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Define interfaces and communication protocols, analyze data-bus systems, and derive Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Support and participate in flight-testing campaigns and see your developments fly.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and methods.
