The candidate will join the Manufacturing Engineering team at Pirelli headquarter. He/She will be involved as Project Engineer in managing projects of automatic handling systems to be installed in Pirelli factories in the world. The simulation and the design of such systems is carried out in strong cooperation with OEM and partners. Depending on the category and complexity of projects, he/she may act as project member or project leader.

YOUR CORE ACTIVITIES

• Identify process paths to automate, based on various factors such as labor, cost, safety, performance, etc.
• Supported by the Original Equipment Manufacturers, evaluate technological options and select the appropriate solution both for brown and green fields applications.
• Working with sector experts and Pirelli IT department, design handling systems integrated and interoperable with different systems and platforms (MES, WMS, WCS, OT devices, etc).
• Deliver the specifications for the automatic handling systems (and relevant interfaces) for the Pirelli factories worldwide.
• Define the project timeline and manage accordingly the design, procurement, commissioning, testing and validation of the equipment supplied by OEM.
• Provides technical support and coordinate project local team resources (from remote and with business trips) during installation, commissioning, start-up and following lifecycle phases in all the Pirelli factories worldwide.
• Verify, approve and archive machinery documentation in compliance with internal procedures and Group quality standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Master Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Automation Engineering or Mechanical engineering.
• 3+ years of experience on automatic handling systems engineering and/or technical project management.
• Basic knowledge of CAD tools and Machinery Directive. Knowledge of project management fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and of most common industrial protocols is an advantage.
• Knowledge of flow simulation software Witness or equivalent is an advantage. Basic knowledge of SQL and/or Python is an advantage.
• Travelling flexibility (international and domestic).
• Fluency in English.
