Fuel Cell Stack Architect

As part of its ambition to decarbonise air mobility, H3 Dynamics is looking for a Fuel Cell Stack Architect to support the development of the next generation H3 Dynamics fuel cell stack adapted to aerospace requirements.
About the Role
- Support the development of next-generation aerospace PEM open and closed cathode fuel cell stacks;
- Cascade fuel cell system requirements to fuel cell stack requirements. Define the architecture of the new fuel cell stack including electrochemical and material choices, considering thermal and mechanical aspects;
- Participate in the selection of stack component suppliers: membrane, GDL, bipolar plates and gaskets;
- Participate in fuel cell stack test campaigns by contributing to protocol development, test execution, and data analysis to support design validation and iteration;
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure correct assembly protocols are followed and with the simulation team to ensure the adequate models and hypotheses are taken;
- Support the company in the development of the technical strategy roadmap regarding fuel cell stacks;
- Support HR on recruitment activities in the fuel cell stack team;
- Support IP development and technical documentation.
Your Profile
- MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related fields;
- 5 year experience in designing and developing fuel cell stacks for mobility applications;
- Proven track record in testing and delivering functional fuel cell stacks prototypes;
- Familiarity with CAD, CFD, FEA and multiphysics electrochemical softwares;
- Prior experience in aerospace applications is a strong plus, especially in the context of lightweight design, high-reliability systems, and compliance with aviation standards;
- Experience with systems engineering methodologies (e.g., requirement flow-down, interface definition, functional architecture) is a significant asset;
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment bringing innovative solutions;
- Strong team spirit with great communication skills across technical and non technical audiences;
- High level of written and spoken English mandatory. French and other languages would be a bonus.
