Key Responsibilities

- Discovery & Exploration: Define initial specifications, explore innovative concepts, analyze market trends and patents, and collaborate with research centers or suppliers for technical solutions.
- Feasibility: Develop and execute test plans, analyze results, validate calculation models, and contribute to design reviews, FMEAs, and cost analyses.
- Development & Qualification: Perform calculations, assess and refine designs, support product drawings and specifications, document knowledge, and assist in field tests and failure analysis.
- Specialized Studies & Support: Conduct advanced analyses (fatigue, FEA, CFD, vibration), act as a specialist in functional areas, lead small projects, and provide technical advice to purchasing, engineering, production, and sales.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications
- University Master in the field of mechanical engineering with relevant work experience from internship or PhD research or several years of experience in similar roles and industry.
- Strong analytical skills focused on understanding underlying principles and root causes (RCA).
- Strong communication and reporting skills in English both written and spoken.
- Flexible, pro-active attitude and willing to occasionally travel internationally.
- Good to excellent knowledge in one or more of the following areas: FEA, Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Tribology, Pumps and/or rotating equipment, Matlab, TRIZ (inventive problem solving).
