Mechanical Engineer - Asset Management Support

Your Role:
As a a Mechanical Engineer you will support our Asset Management Team in maintaining and optimizing mechanical asset data for dredging and offshore vessels + equipment. This office-based role focuses on main drive systems, including diesel engines, gearboxes, and propulsion units, with a strong emphasis on understanding how these systems work and identifying their components.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyze mechanical asset records (e.g. engines, gearboxes, thrusters, shaft lines)
- Understand the working principles of diesel engines, gearboxes and propulsion systems
- Identify and manage mechanical components and spare parts used in these main drive systems
- Review technical documentation and ensure compliance with maritime standards + JDN spare parts requirement
- Coordinate with vessel crews, TD, and suppliers to validate mechanical asset data
- Manage mechanical article master data in the maintenance system (AmosW)
- Work confidently with MS Office tools, especially Excel
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in maritime, offshore or mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, gearboxes, and propulsion systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and identify it’s mechanical components
- Fluent in English
- Proficient in MS Excel and asset management systems (e.g. AmosW, Maximo, SAP PM)
