Principal Test Development Engineer

The Position:
The group is seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer to join our European team, based in Limerick, Ireland. The candidate must be self-motivated, willing to learn exciting new technologies and develop new products, but also be able to provide strong Test technical leadership and work effectively within a talented group of individuals across multiple development locations.
The successful candidate will work closely with an extensive new product development team as part of a multi-Engineer Test team, assuming responsibility for the development of innovative high performance mass production ready hardware and software (including pre-silicon verification in Design Simulation and FPGA environments) for our leading-edge product portfolio, with a keen focus on cost optimization. The role also opens opportunities to undertake technical mentorship along with project Test technical lead positions, engaging directly with our Tier 1 Customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- DFT definition & development to improve testability, quality and reduce cost;
- Pre-silicon verification of Test solutions in Design Simulation and FPGA environments;
- Design of innovative, reliable and efficient multi-site Test solutions on high performance mixed signal ATE platforms;
- Execution of the Test development phase including Silicon functionality and debug, ATE Characterization, solution optimization and Offshore Production release;
- Support the fast ramp of ultra hi-volume new products;
- Interface with a broad range of groups such as Assembly, Reliability & FA, H/W technology etc.;
- With CSS peers and the wider Test Development community, drive for continuous advancement of measurement methodologies through improvement initiatives.
Relevant Skills:
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
- 10+ years of Test Development experience in the Mixed Signal and/or Power domain, including Test development team leadership;
- Strong ATE program development skills (Teradyne and/or SPEA platforms ideally);
- Strong mentorship and technical leadership skills along with inter-personal and communication skills;
- In depth knowledge of Analogue and Digital Electronics;
- Knowledge of mixed signal PCB design and associated CAD/Simulation tools;
- Be self-motivated, willing to take on responsibility, and show initiative in identifying and solving challenging technical problems;
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record for solving complex problems via planning, debug, data analysis and reporting.
