Context:
Axens Project Operations (POP) Business Division mission is to provide advanced technologies, basic engineering design, modular units design and technical services to its customers but also develop new technologies together with other Axens Departments.
Inside this POP Business Division, the Global Project Optimization and Coordination department is in charge of the global transformation plan of the POP Business Division fostering alignment in methods and continuous improvement between the entities Axens acting in Project Operations in France and abroad.
This position is directly reporting to the Vice-President for Global Project Optimization and Coordination.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Engineer in charge of Equipment Project Optimization and Derisking as well as Quality Assurance global leader for complex Equipment projects involving fired heaters and modular units in the refining, petrochemical, energy transition and carbon capture sectors in order to :
- keep on strengthening our processes to better reduce and mitigate risks associated to EPF equipment projects (which is key to secure the margins of these projects)
- and develop inside Axens a Quality Assurance framework for these projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all project deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and internal quality standards, driving excellence from engineering through fabrication, construction, and commissioning
In the framework of this position, you may also be requested to conduct certain other transformation projects of the Business Division.
This position combines operational excellence, project governance, global standardization, and a strong quality‑driven culture to ensure that EPF equipment projects deliver maximum value across all sites.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline;
- Quality certifications (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ CQE) are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years within EPC projects, preferably in fired heaters, modular units, or similar heavy industrial sector;
- Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control would be a plus;
- Knowledge of international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and fabrication processes appreciated.
Skills
