Responsibilities
Design & Concept Development
- Advise on robotic cell design and integration into automated production lines;
- Contribute to control strategy development and robot interface planning.
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Support central engineering teams during FAT at supplier sites;
- Review and approve:
- Robot programs and motion sequences;
- HMI settings and user interface logic;
- PLC logic and line routing concepts;
- Compliance with machine acceptance criteria.
Installation & Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Support line installation and commissioning, focusing on:
- Robot safety zones and emergency stop strategies;
- Manual/automatic mode transitions and on/off sequencing;
- Emergency power supply strategy and recovery logic;
- Validation of robotic equipment, PLCs, HMIs, and safety systems;
- Final sign-off of machine acceptance list.
Ramp-Up & Production Support
- Lead technical support during ramp-up and stabilization phases;
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for robotic processes;
- Reduce scrap and increase technical availability through data-driven analysis;
- Support Production Engineers during ramp-up;
- Troubleshoot process and equipment when issues arise and implement containment and corrective actions.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or other related technical field;
- Experience in automation environments and high-volume production equipment;
- Proficiency in robot programming (e.g. FANUC, ABB or similar);
- Experience with PLC programming and camera/vision systems (preferred);
- Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset;
- Fluency in English;
- Ability to work on-site in a dynamic, cross-functional team.
It's beneficial if you have
- Experience with industrial robot arms, preffered FANUC and ABB;
- Familiarity with robot simulation tools (e.g., RobotStudio, KUKA Sim);
- Experience integrating robots with vision systems or force sensors;
- Exposure to collaborative robots (cobots) and human-machine interaction;
- Understanding of safety standards for robotic cells and CE conformity.
