What we’re looking for
We’re hiring a Junior Mechanical Engineer – Hands-On Innovator who loves turning ideas into real, working hardware. This is a practical, build-focused role for an early-career engineer who enjoys designing, prototyping, assembling, and iterating on mechanical systems—from UAV components to production-ready parts. You’ll blend solid engineering fundamentals with hands-on problem-solving and learn fast in a real-world environment.
The day-to-day
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for UAV platforms and related systems.
- Build, test, and iterate on prototypes using 3D printing and hands-on fabrication.
- Support the transition from prototype designs to production-ready parts.
- Assemble mechanical and electromechanical subsystems, including basic soldering work.
- Work closely with electronics, autonomy, and operations teams to solve practical integration challenges.
- Learn and apply DFM/DFA principles as designs mature toward manufacturing.
You should apply if you
- Are a graduate or early-career engineer (0–2 years) with a bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Are curious, practical, and motivated to build, test, and improve real hardware.
- Are comfortable moving between CAD design and hands-on bench work.
- Enjoy learning by doing and iterating quickly based on real-world feedback.
- Are eligible to obtain a NATO security clearance.
Nice to haves
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- UAV piloting experience.
- Exposure to PX4 or other drone control stacks.
- Deeper knowledge of 3D printing (materials, optimization, troubleshooting).
- Experience with plastic injection molding and DFM/DFA principles.
