Composite Design Engineer

General Summary:
This position reports to the Head of Composites Design or their designee; is located in Maranello, Italy. Responsible for delivering weight, quality, compliance and reliability design targets. Supporting the design for both current and future car on all composite related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments;
- Design support for a variety of composite components and assemblies;
- Design studies for the concept stage of the new car design program;
- Liaise and support the Aero and FE department to achieve quality/compliance/strength/weight targets;
- Thorough knowledge of composite materials and production techniques;
- Full knowledge of the F1 technical regulations;
- Follow all safety regulations in all venues;
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of Composites Design or their designee.
Education and Work Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical engineering with a strong knowledge of composite materials;
- A minimum of 4 years experience working as a composite design engineer within motorsport.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
- Have an excellent understanding of technical regulations;
- Strong technical background in F1 racing car design;
- Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations;
- Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way;
- Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels;
- A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment;
- A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.
Equipment and Applications:
- Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products and ERP Systems;
- Must be proficient in the use of CAD system: Catia V5/V6 3dx;
- Ability to follow complex regulations.
