RF Applications Engineer

Position Overview:
Analog Devices is seeking an RF Application Engineer based in Limerick, Ireland who will focus the on development of the latest RF product ICs. The RF product portfolio of this strategy consists of RF Phase Locked Loops (PLL), Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO), integrated PLL/VCOs, JESD204 and Network Clock ICS, frequency multipliers, Direct Digital Synthesizers (DDS) and frequency dividers used in a wide range of different markets and applications.
The Applications Engineer will perform a range of tasks in all phases of the product life cycle from product definition, new product development, technical training and customer support of new and existing products. These tasks include hardware design, block diagram verification, hardware user guides and application notes, working with other product lines to understand and develop complete signal chain solutions, developing training material for field applications engineers, making device measurements and providing input for new product definitions.
As an Applications Engineer, you will:
- Become an RF product expert that will interface with customers and field applications to solve challenging customer design problems.
- Provide timely responses to customer and FAE questions.
- Support customer design-in activities and resolving challenging design problems.
- Develop datasheets, user guides, evaluation boards, and application notes for products supported.
- Development of technical training material for field application engineers.
- Develop in-depth understanding of customer applications and convert this into inputs to new product definitions.
- Perform measurements in lab and develop python-based scripts for data capture.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with silicon evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with test instruments, such as Spectrum Analyzers, Phase Noise Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers.
- Hands-on programming experience in either Python, C, C++, or C#.
- Some knowledge of programmable logic (FPGA) and SoC development is a plus.
- Excellent presentation and technical writing skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
