System Engineer - Commercial Vehicles
Valeo
Prague, Czech Republic
We are looking for a System Engineer to join our Commercial Vehicles team in our R&D Center in Prague. You will play a key role in defining the system concepts and functional roadmap for future ADAS systems, supporting RFQs, and contributing to the development of the next generation of safety features for heavy-duty vehicles. This role suits a universal engineer who can comfortably switch between Matlab/Python work, exploring system deltas, integrating HW/SW, and supporting validation activities. It is ideal for someone curious and analytical - someone who enjoys transforming unclear requirements into a clear system concept.

System & Function Development
- Develop and refine Functions Roadmaps for 2026+ RFQs to support future commercial vehicle platforms
- Contribute to system concepts combining radar and vision perception to meet Functional Performance KPIs
- Work on upcoming features like Active Braking (MOIS) and Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) for 2028+ systems
Requirements Engineering
- Review and analyze customer requirements
- Identify missing requirements and create new system requirements to complete the Valeo platform definition
- Prepare Proof of Concepts and support technical feasibility evaluations
System Design, Integration & Validation
- Participate in the design, integration, and validation of system blocks
- Integrate HW and SW while understanding relevant mechanical interfaces and constraints of commercial vehicle platforms
- Load datasets, run simulations, and integrate hardware/software elements into the system
- Travel occasionally to a test track for system tests and data uploads
- Cooperate with SW Developers and Test Engineers for end-to-end system validation
Technical Standards & Reviews
- Ensure compliance with Engineering Discipline processes, standards, and design rules
- Support system design reviews - internal and with suppliers
- Follow standardization and contribute to architecture harmonization
Project Contribution
- Contribute to P3/P2 projects, defining system content and supporting deliverables for RFQs
- Report progress and escalate risks
- Ensure adherence to project economical targets

- Strong proficiency in Python (data processing, automation, validation scripts)
- Experience with HW/SW integration, system testing, or system validation
- Basic understanding of mechanics, mechanical interfaces, or vehicle mechanical systems
- Understanding of system requirements, architectures, or ADAS functions
- Basic knowledge of C++ is an advantage
- Familiarity with radar, vision, or perception systems
- Experience with commercial vehicles or ADAS in automotive is an advantage
