Defence Design Engineer

Your Responsibilities
- You design and optimize components, assemblies and systems while taking into account technical, scheduling and financial constraints (design-to-cost from customer requirements);
- You develop 3D models for components and assemblies in CAD, including surface modelling for cast parts;
- You prepare and revise 2D drawings applying correct GD&T principles;
- You create 2D and 3D visualizations to support technical understanding and you contribute to professional presentations;
- You carry out basic component calculations using FEM or analytical methods;
- You manage product data within PLM systems, including BOM creation and lifecycle updates;
- You collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle;
- You analyze tolerance stack-ups and ensure robust manufacturability;
- You work with component suppliers to clarify technical requirements and jointly develop solutions (co-design);
- You support the definition and implementation of FMEAs;
- You act as the design referent for selected components across engine platforms;
- You aid troubleshooting activities and design improvements within the FRACAS process.
Your Profile
- You have completed engineering studies (university or technical college) in mechanical or automotive engineering;
- You ideally bring first experience in design related to combustion engine applications;
- You possess basic technical knowledge of combustion engines (diesel required; gasoline and/or hydrogen is beneficial);
- You understand the fundamentals of simulation results (1D, CFD, FEA, NVH…);
- You are confident in CAD design including surface modelling;
- You work autonomously in a structured and organized manner, showing strong commitment and flexibility;
- You enjoy collaborating in a multicultural environment and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills;
- You bring an innovative mindset and pursue goals with determination;
- You are fluent in English, and ideally in French and/or German.
