Position Overview:
The Associate Project Engineer (GPM) supports the Global Product Monitoring (GPM) Complaint Investigations Lab by contributing to lab-specific strategic initiatives, continuous improvement (CI) projects, and tool development. This position plays a key role in coordinating project activities with failure analysis engineers and other lab personnel to ensure smooth execution of initiatives that enhance lab workflows, data analysis, and complaint investigation processes. The role offers hands-on experience in a regulated environment and opportunities to contribute to innovative solutions, including AI-based tools.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating project efforts with failure analysis engineers and other lab team members.
- Support CI and strategic projects that improve lab workflows, efficiency, and compliance.
- Help develop and implement software tools, dashboards, and process enhancements.
- Participate in pilot testing and feedback collection for new tools or process changes.
- Contribute to AI-based tool development and integration to support data analysis and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including CI, Quality, and Engineering.
- Document project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
- Track project timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics under guidance.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485).
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest in quality systems, lab operations, or product investigations.
- Experience in a technical or regulated environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic project coordination or process improvement concepts.
- Exposure to data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) or programming languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
- Interest or experience in AI/ML applications is desirable but not required.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn in a dynamic environment.
