Weir Minerals is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to drive innovation in hydraulic ore hoisting and positive displacement pumping-technology, manage multidisciplinary teams, and deliver integrated engineering solutions that set new standards for the industry. As our Senior Technical Project Manager you play a critical role into bridging our legacy of robust engineering with the future of innovative minerals resource extraction.

Key Responsibilities

Full scope of responsibilities will be shared during the interview process.

Lead Projects:

• Manage the full lifecycle of integrated mining system projects, from planning and design to delivery and improvement.

Drive Innovation:

• Integrate Weir’s core technologies such as slurry transport, wear-resistant materials, hydraulic solutions, into next-generation mining applications.

Collaborate cross functional:

• Guide cross-functional teams and coordinate with external experts and contractors to achieve project goals. Facilitating stakeholder engagement and promoting collaboration in a technical international environment.

Champion Safety & Sustainability:

• Foster a safety-first culture and promote environmental stewardship in every aspect of your work. Ensuring adherence to safety requirements and regulations. Setting a strong example for the team and integrate safety in all improvement activities.

Ensure Excellence:

• Oversee prototyping, testing, and deployment, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Compliance & Accreditation:

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and environmental risks. Promote safety and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.

Travel:

• Willingness to travel internationally as needed to mine sites, customers and other Weir locations.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable;
• PMP, Prince II or equivalent certification is highly preferred;
• 10+ years of experience in technical project management, using project management tooling and other relevant tools for integrated solutions design and simulations;
• Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary design & development teams for high capital-intensive, integrated system solutions;
• Proven experience in external contract management;
• Highly preferred; Understanding of mining systems;
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
