About the Position:
We are looking for a Mechanics Engineer to join the EMEA Center of Excellence team.
This position is based at our office in Corbetta.
As the Mechanics Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible for mechanical development of Display and Electronics Contro Unit
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Directly handle co-design activities with customer in concept and technical feasibility phase (including technical presentations for internal stakeholders and customer);
- Monitor mechanical design activities schedule, quality targets and BOM, development costs and plan corrective actions in case of deviations with respect to assigned targets;
- Perform mechanical requirements and Standards analysis making available deviations list and formal reporting;
- Define product architecture and components design according to projects constraints, legislative, internal and customer requirements (including performances & reliability test requirements);
- Assure presence at customer site for mechanical design related items and formal matchability events;
- Drive technical development during product/part design phase (assuring BOM, 2Ds, 3Ds, assy & customer drawings availability according to schedule);
- Drive design verifications during product/part design phase (tolerance calculation, thermal/FEM/MF simulations, Eng, verifications, FMEA…);
- Assure fulfillment of development process & compliance with technical guidelines & lesson learnt;
- Assure through internal/external benchmarks reuse and cost effectiveness of design solutions;
- Assure fulfillment of customer requirements on aesthetic, performance and reliability point of view;
- Assure the release of a design agreed and approved by process engineering in formal DRs;
- Guarantee support to plant and customer quality for internal/external claims analyzing and fixing;
- Assure timely support, in agreement with Technical Project Manager, for quality issues on project under his responsibility.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Professional experience of at least 3/5 years of experience in developing displays and/or electronic control units, preferably within the automotive sector;
- Proficiency in mechanical design applied to the integration of electronic components, preferably using 3D CAD software such as NX (preferred one) CATIA or SolidWorks;
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations applicable to automotive components in passenger compartment;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various functions and customers;
- Proficiency in English (level B2) for communication with global teams;
- Availability to travel inside and outside EU for business trip.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Knowledge of thermoplastic materials and elastomers part design;
- Knowledge of metal sheets and sintered metal parts design;
- Experience in First off tools, off tools & off process parts approval;
- Materials and treatments base knowledge;
- Plastic parts post processing knowledge (painting, chroming, annealing…);
- Root cause analysis;
- Cost Engineering;
- Problem solving and risk management attitude;
- Proven experience in electromechanical kinematic systems.
