Key Accountabilities

As a Material and Mechanical Engineer at RINA Consulting, you will play a critical role within the Material Engineering Discipline team. You will provide extensive technical services aimed at addressing intricate structural challenges related to material performance under demanding service scenarios. Your key accountabilities will include:Reviewing and appraising technical documentation relevant to critical assets, encompassing mechanical design standards, material specifications, and comprehensive testing protocols tailored for hydrogen service compatibility.Developing and executing technical strategies that are aligned with project goals and ensuring a coherent approach to deliverables.Conducting thorough structural analyses along with fracture mechanics and fatigue assessments to ensure safety and performance standards are met.Coordinating microstructural analysis and conducting fractographic examinations to investigate material failures and enhance performance.Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution, ensuring cohesive integration of efforts across disciplines.Overseeing laboratory testing activities in cooperation with laboratory engineers to guarantee high-quality outcomes and adherence to standards.Preparing detailed technical reports and engaging in technical dialogues with clients to foster strong partnerships and mutual trust.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with a PhD in applied mechanics, fracture mechanics, or fatigue considered highly advantageous. Candidates should also possess 2-3 years of practical experience in a relevant role. Proficiency in CAD and FEM tools is desirable, along with a deep understanding of metallurgy and material science principles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience in tackling new challenges, paired with a commitment to continuous personal and professional development. Excellence in teamwork, superb communication abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to produce accurate and detailed reports under tight deadlines are essential attributes for success in this role. Fluency in English is crucial for effective communication with international teams, ensuring collaborative efforts are productive and clear.
