Cell Assembly Process Engineer

Your Role
As a key player in our dynamic team, you will be responsible for the definition of cell assembly process of Basquevolt’s semi-solid proprietary Li-ion cells.
- Participating in the selection and validation of new battery assembly machines;
- Participating in the design, validation and start-up of assembly lines;
- Defining product and process specifications for the various battery designs with the R&D teams & Participating in the study of new battery designs;
- Perform post-fabrication assessments to validate the quality and reproducibility of the assembly;
- Participate in the assessment of cells and suggest corrective measures that can be applied to the line;
- Lead and execute continuous improvement iniciatives(Lean/ Kaizen /six sigma) to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste;
- Manage technical and cross-functional projects from concept to completion, ensuring scope, timing, and budgets targets are met;
- Develop, implement and validate mechanical machine modifications to improve process capability, productivity and safety;
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions;
- Drive data-based decision making through process analysis, KPI tracking, and structured problem-solving;
- Document engineering changes, project plans, ROI analyses, and improvement results.
Requirements
The Cell Assembly Process Engineer should have experience in the development and manufacturing of lithium-ion battery, ideally within a corporate organization.
Specifically, we will assess expertise in the following aspects:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Li-ion battery manufacturing;
- Experience in battery products (LFP/NMC cathode, graphite anode, etc...);
- Good understanding of the various product and process constraints related to the battery field;
- Experience in mechanical piece assembly and stress expertise;
- Proven experience in continuous improvement roles within a manufacturing environment;
- Hands-on experience designing and executing mechanical modifications or equipment upgrades;
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously;
- Knowledge of Lean tools (5S, VSM, SMED, TPM etc…) and/or Six Sigma methodologies;
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Applicants should be fluent in English. Spanish or any other European language will be a plus.
Nice to have: CAD familiarity and experience with automation or industrial controls systems.
