Mechanical Design Engineer

Performing mechanical design of special machines, assembly, testing, handling, and production equipment for the ams OSRAM group and external customers, ensuring that delivered devices meet all technical, economic, and quality requirements
Creating designs and models based on defined concepts and instructions
Producing technical documentation (drawings, sketches, etc.) from the given designs in accordance with standards, functionality, and manufacturability
Creating assembly drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
Reviewing and releasing production drawings
Revising existing drawing documentation and BOMs (RedLining)
Selecting suppliers for purchased mechanical components
Scheduling deadlines, meeting milestones, budgets, and set goals
Solving problems operatively and being responsible for change management
Consulting client technical requirements and collaborating on the design of technical solutions
Preparing documentation for quotation creation
Consulting the suitability of proposed components with suppliers

Knowledge in mechanical design and automation
Creative thinking in problem-solving
Progressiveness in the field and continuous learning
Experience with Siemens PLM software (Unigraphics), SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor
Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage
University degree in mechanical engineering
Technical education; knowledge of custom manufacturing is an advantage
English at a communicative level
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Flexibility in travel
Good communication skills within a team
