Mechanical Design Engineer
Destinus
Madrid, Spain
Imagine this…You’re standing on the edge of aerospace innovation, sketching the first lines of a mechanism that will move faster, react quicker, and endure the extreme. You’re not just designing components - you’re crafting the future of motion in hypersonic systems. Your work enables the kinetic ballet behind every surface deployment, aerodynamic shift, and moving structure on board our next-gen UAVs. Every calculation, every tolerance, every curve you define is what allows speed and autonomy to meet precision and reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Proficiency in CAD design (Part modeling, assemblies, drafting, and drawing creation) - Siemens NX ideally or similar;
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals;
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T);
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles;
- Competent in using other engineering design tools such as FEA/FEM;
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter);
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration;
- Time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- Competent in the generation of technical documentation.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering;
- 3+ years design experience in a precision engineering environment;
- Strong foundational knowledge of designing products for survivability;
- Advantageous to have worked in the design of aerospace or mil spec products and systems;
- Experience working with technical suppliers to ensure products design requirements;
- Experience in working with products across its full life cycle.
Who You Are:
You thrive in an environment where challenges come fast and bold, and your solutions move just as swiftly. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, test a prototype, or challenge conventional design principles. You love working closely with other bright minds and believe the best engineering happens when curiosity meets collaboration.
