Job Description

Your future Team:

Your will be joining an Embedded Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities across a range of engineering projects which will form part of the submarine’s new build and development programmes.

Your Missions:

• Develop effective solutions to engineering challenges;
• Evaluate performance, reliability, and safety of final products;
• Alter and modify design to meet customer requirements;
• Estimate budget and scope of project;
• Management of Risk and Opportunity;
• Prepare product reports and documentation.

My profile

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear sector;
• Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, (eg precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture;
• Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting;
• Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety I.e Understanding of safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention);
• Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Glovebox’s and associated processes would be an advantage along with an understanding of Welding, NDT techniques;
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar);
• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar);
• BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field.
