Bari, Italy

THE POSITION

ADI is seeking for a Graduate Mixed Signal Design Engineer for mixed signal ICs design in the Digital Healthcare – Design IC team.

Mixed-Signal Designers will work with Marketing and Application engineers to understand these medical systems to identify issues, come up with solutions, help define product requirements, and execute the circuit design. Some examples of blocks required in projects are analog front ends (LNA, PGA, TGC), signal processing (active and passive filters), charge sharing circuits (switched capacitor topologies), ADCs and DACs.

Project and/or personnel leadership responsibilities may be assigned to highly qualified and motivated individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mixed Signal Design Engineer, you will perform a full range of product development activities including, but not limited to:

  • Investigate/Research systems and suggest techniques to achieve project requirements;
  • Working as Chip or Sub-system lead towards IC requirement definition;
  • Using recommended design and verification techniques, tools, and flow to produce efficient designs which meet specified functional, power, and timing objectives;
  • Interact and participate with a cross functional team including Product, Test, Marketing, and Application Engineers effectively importing/exporting information as needed for a successful execution of a product;
  • Successful integration of blocks into larger mixed-signal systems;
  • Mentor junior integrated circuit design engineers;
  • Document, present, and participate in project meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES

Graduate Mixed-Signal Design Engineers should meet the following requirements:

  • Master degree/PhD degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering;
  • Candidates should have experience working on and simulating analog blocks as well as evaluating silicon design from at the top level;
  • Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to lead investigations into new solutions;
  • Strong inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills are required;
  • The successful candidate will be expected to take a sub-system leadership role, a circuit design role, and to contribute to the development of new products from architecture selection to implementation and debug.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES

  • Proficiency with the Cadence design environment including schematic entry, layout, and analog/mixed-signal simulation;
  • Good knowledge of CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuit design, tools, and flows;
  • Knowledge of precision metrics such as mismatch, noise & linearity is a plus;
  • Design experience in bandgaps, or bias circuits, Low Voltage amplifier circuits, DACs, ADCs;
  • Strong presentation and technical documentation skills;
  • Knowledge/verification of custom digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.);
  • Proficiency with digital design and verification tool flows considered a plus;
