INVENT GmbH is a European specialist in lightweight structures. Founded in 1996 as a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the medium-sized company develops and manufactures innovative and high-precision structural components made of fiber-reinforced composites and lightweight metals - primarily for the aerospace industry. Function

The space business within INVENT is involved in a wide variety of innovative and technically demanding projects - from structural components for satellites and launchers to complex space assemblies. Our projects span all phases of the product lifecycle: from study and design phases to the development and testing of qualification models, through to full integration, verification, and support during launch campaigns.

The focus of this position is on independent project management. This includes the complete planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of projects to ensure successful achievement of objectives in terms of time, quality, and cost. As a Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the assigned projects, ensuring that contractual obligations and project requirements are met. You will coordinate and guide your project team and subcontractors, maintain close communication with internal departments and external partners, and act as the primary point of contact for customers. You will report directly to the Head of Space Business Unit.

Your tasks

• Communicating with customers and subcontractors/suppliers;
• Project breakdown to identify and coordinate tasks and responsibilities;
• Defining project phases and milestones to control project progress;
• Creating and updating project scheduling;
• Tracking costs (supported by controlling), changes and complaints;
• Analyzing and managing project risks;
• Organizing and motivating the project team;
• Preparing cost estimates and offers;
• Ensuring customer satisfaction;
• Managing reports and necessary documents;
• Project sizes 1 to 10 M€.

Your profile

• Completed studies in engineering/management/legal;
• Relevant experience in project management, 3+ years minimum;
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools;
• Knowledge of Jira, MS Project and an ERP system is an advantage;
• Structured and solution-oriented way of working;
• Analytical thinking and innovative spirit;
• Strong communication and teamwork skills;
• Very good English and German skills.
