TESS Electrical Europe located in Barcelona, Spain is a parts and logistics company supplying the mega-yacht, cruise ship, commercial shipping and shipyards across Europe, USA, Asia and the Caribbean. TESS Electrical Europe is fully owned by TESS LLC located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Operating since 1984, TESS supplies parts and marine electrical and automation services to the same industries named above. We are looking for an experienced marine electrical and automation specialist to grow and build our team in Europe, starting in Barcelona, Spain. This person must be a self-starter, reliable and be able to represent TESS in all areas of what we do. Mega-yacht experience is an advantage. Sales training is a preferred skill, but successful candidate must be outgoing and be able to clearly communicate socially and professionally in the English language. Job Responsibilities

  • Answers to and takes direction from TESS Electrical Europe Managing Director, TESS LLC Production Manager and Technical Superintendent.
  • Have a high level and experience in the Marine Electrical/Automation fields with experience.
  • High level of troubleshooting experience and ability.
  • Develop, review and advise on Marine Electrical and Automation technical issues and items.
  • Advise on the development of technical solutions for work requested by customers.
  • Travel to work sites and review works for quoting, estimating and solution fact finding.
  • Advise Production Manager, Automation Manager, Engineering Manager, Service Department Manager, and technicians on all technical items and issues as requested.
  • Work with US head office technical team for work solutions and repairs.
  • Review and qualify Engineering drawings are fit for installation.
  • Review parts and items the company uses and determine upgrades or changes of items to be used within installations.
  • Advise and interact with Classification Society requirements and review all submittals.
  • Assist in the execution of Policies, procedures and work process, reviewing and recommending changes and improvements.
  • Develop, build, discuss technical requirements for all jobs and projects requested.
  • Review technical drawings and submittals to class to quality manager output.
  • Work with all department heads to assist in finding appropriate technical solutions to new and existing customer work requests.
  • Work with Sales and assist to scope work, work flows and technical solutions.
  • Be involved and add technical expertise to all projects in Scheduling and job meetings as requested.
  • Participate as requested by Department Managers in completing Quality assurance (QA) documents.
  • Build a team of technicians ready for Services to customers.

Able to Travel worldwide. Must have unrestricted travel documents and valid passport.

The candidate must be based in Barcelona or able to relocate.

Experience Requirements and Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree or equal experience in Electrical and/or Automation systems in a Marine Technical field.
  • Proficient in Office 365 Office suite including MS Project and Planner.
  • Proficient in using MS Teams and associated Apps.
  • Experience must include strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the Yachting Industry as a Marine Electrical Technician or similar field.
  • Must be proficient in Marine Electrical and Automation troubleshooting experience.
  • Must be willing and able to work in Sales.
  • Must have a sociable attitude willing to work outside of normal hours.
  • Must have a clean Driving record.
  • Must be presentable and able to fluently communicate in the English language socially and technically.

Salary: Dependent on Experience and qualifications.
