EMEA Process Engineering Expert - Final Assembly

Position Summary:
The EMEA Process Engineering Expert – Final Assembly is a senior technical role reporting directly to the Area Manager. While not managing direct reports, this position requires strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, acting as a deputy in the absence of the Area Manager. The role spans technical centers and operational sites across EMEA.
As an EMEA process engineering Expert you will:
- Serve as the technical authority for Final Assembly processes, including Post Process, Testing, and Assembly Lines.
- Support the Area Manager in driving standardization, innovation, and process excellence across EMEA plants.
- Lead process readiness and flawless execution for new program installations.
- Act as a decision-maker in the absence of the Area Manager, ensuring continuity and alignment with strategic goals.
Your role:
Process Leadership & Innovation:
- Lead the implementation of new technologies and innovation projects in Final Assembly, Post Process, and Testing areas.
- Actively contribute to the design and deployment of automation and advanced manufacturing solutions.
- Ensure flawless execution of new program launches, acting as a technical lead.
Standardization & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive standardization of processes across all EMEA sites, ensuring alignment with Aptiv and customer requirements.
- Own and lead process improvement initiatives, including lessons learned and best practice rollouts.
- Ensure compliance with ME standards (POS/BOP/PFMEA/BOE).
Technical Expertise & Decision-Making:
- Serve as the go-to expert for Final Assembly processes, providing guidance and technical direction to peers and stakeholders.
- Act as deputy to the Area Manager, making decisions and ensuring continuity in their absence.
- Maintain and evolve the Aptiv knowledge base and technical documentation for Final Assembly.
Capability Development:
- Support the development of central and plant-level engineering capabilities.
- Ensure the right technical competencies and tools are in place for all Final Assembly-related processes.
- Contribute to the training and mentoring of process engineering SMEs, without direct line management.
Your Profile:
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fields.
- 5+ years in process engineering roles – big plus if automotive and wire harness industry.
- Advanced proficiency in: Excel, Reporting & Analysis, Presentation Skills, Project Management, Risk Analysis, Strategic Communication.
- Strong leadership competencies: Builds Trust, Adaptive to Change, Enterprise Thinking, Customer & Market Focus, Bias for Action, Collaboration.
- Fluent in English (Advanced Reading, Writing, Speaking).
