What is the job about?
As a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer in HVAC OEM your day will be filled work from concept to mass production. You will be creating ideas, setting up requirements and transform them to foundation for production. Building the bridge between customer needs and mass production to find the best solution is one of our main goals in every project. Using CAD and different simulation tools we design products and components in injection molded composite materials.
You will secure requirements and quality in all requested deliveries, providing innovative solutions that meet customer needs and drive our mechanical development forward.
You will also support the team with knowledge and experience and contribute to building a vibrant and capable team. Our team consists of technical staff placed in Denmark and Serbia.
Your main responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop and design mechanical components for HVAC applications with a focus on mass production, cost optimization, and quality assurance;
- Drive conceptualization and system engineering to address customer needs and translate them into actionable tasks for the team;
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including Grundfos-specific standards, and maintain thorough documentation;
- Leverage your expertise in injection molding plastic design and related processes to create innovative and effective solutions;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, specialists and Test Lab, to optimize production and verify components;
- Support and develop team competencies, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing;
- Perform hydraulic design and ensure the integration of HVAC-specific requirements into product development;
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align on project deliverables and ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- 8+ years of relevant experience in mechanical development, with a proven track record in injection molding plastic design and related processes;
- Hands-on experience in system engineering, conceptualization, and OEM business practices;
- Comprehensive HVAC and hydraulic design knowledge;
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools and structural analysis (FEA simulations). We use Catia;
- Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills, with a drive to mentor and develop your colleagues;
- The ability to perform calculations and evaluate designs effectively;
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
